Attention: Police Officers, Sheriff’s Deputies, State Patrol & Corrections Officers!

Welcome to the only martial arts dojo in Colorado dedicated to martial arts training for peace officers. Shihan Robert Chavez (12th Degree Blackbelt in Budo Taijutsu under Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi) operates the dojo. To date, he is the first and only Bujinkan 12th Dan in the state of Colorado.

Our focus is to excel at arrest control, defensive tactics, weapon retention and weapon use.  This is accomplished via thorough understanding of balance, grappling, striking, and locks. Various defensive weapons taught, include, but are not limited to, rigid weapons (like the baton), flexible weapons (rope), bladed weapons (knives), and improvised weapons.  Unlike most martial arts dojos, who focus on the memorization of Kata, tournaments involving unrealistic sparring, sport training and children's classes, we focus on "Shinken Gata", or real fighting techniques, designed to be defensive in nature.

Our dojo is blessed to have numerous elite members of local law enforcement (from both Denver and Grand Junction) who perform as defensive tactics instructors, S.W.A.T team members, snipers, gang unit members, as well as patrol officers who are all committed to their personal safety as well as the safety of the public. They learn to better defend the weapons they carry, and function when those weapons are not effective or unavailable. We train for the "worst case scenario" so that everything they encounter...is just another day on the job.
